1-Minute Inspirations

What can you communicate in 60 seconds that matters? That inspires a little? That appeals to the eye and the ear? That touches the heart and the soul? These are the questions that Jim Miller attempts to answer on this website every week. A new 1-Minute Inspiration debuts each Wednesday morning. Enjoy.

Calling upon his experiences as a caregiver for his wife and his parents, and upon what he has learned from caregivers he has interviewed and read about, Jim Miller writes fresh entries three times a week. Each entry is composed around a single point that will serve to encourage and validate a family caregiver. Professional caregivers will also find meaning and value in most of these writings. Jim incorporates his own photography in each entry, including a downloadable "posterette" that can be printed out for one's own use, emailed to a friend or associate, or installed as a screensaver on one's computer.

Sometimes it starts with his words, other times it starts with an image he has recently photographed. However each entry develops, Jim Miller shares his heart and soul in a quiet, contemplative way, expressing whatever he feels led to express. The entries usually begin with a quotation, often of a spiritual nature, from any of the major faith traditions. But the quotes can just as easily be drawn from other sources that have attracted Jim's attention. The photography is quite varied but it is always grounded in a particular experience of finding the extraordinary in the ordinary.
