First, the obvious: everyone
is different. Your life does not exactly duplicate anyone
else’s. Your past experiences, your present feelings,
your personality style, your support system, and many other
factors make your situation undeniably unique. What is true
for you is not necessarily true for everyone. What helps some
people will not always help every person.
Gathered here is general advice
in the areas of grief, illness, transition, and caregiving
that is designed to offer insight, comfort, and encouragement.
Treat these writings for what they are—they’re
thoughtful possibilities, not iron-clad rules. Take with you
what you recognize as the truth for your situation today,
leaving the rest for another person or another day.
